safeT1D Privacy Policy
How the safeT1D iPhone app handles your family's information.
Last updated October 3, 2026
The short version
- safeT1D does not collect, sell or share your information. S4 Solutions has no server for this app and cannot see your data.
- What the app saves lives on your family's own devices and in your own iCloud account, shared only with the parents you invite.
- safeT1D never reads glucose readings, insulin doses or any other health data.
- There are no ads, no analytics and no tracking in the app.
What the app stores, and where
To run School Mode and keep linked parents up to date, safeT1D stores the following. It stays on the student's iPhone and, once a parent is linked, in the family's private iCloud storage through Apple's CloudKit:
- The child's first name, as entered by a parent.
- School Mode settings: school hours and days, whether the schedule is on, and the safety checklist answers.
- School Mode status: on or off, when the phone last checked in, and any problems found (for example, Screen Time permission was removed).
- An activity log of School Mode events, such as when it started, ended or was changed.
- Requests and approvals between the child's phone and linked parents, such as "End School Mode now".
- The names of linked parents, as provided by their Apple Accounts when they accept an invite.
What the app does not see
The medical apps a parent allows are chosen in Apple's Screen Time picker. iOS gives safeT1D only opaque tokens for them, so the app cannot read which apps they are; iOS itself draws their names and icons on screen. safeT1D cannot see the student's other apps, browsing, messages, contacts, location or health data.
Who can see it
- You and the parents you invite. Invites go to specific Apple Accounts and cannot be opened by anyone else.
- Apple, which hosts iCloud storage under Apple's privacy policy.
- Not S4 Solutions. The data is in your iCloud account, not ours, and we have no way to access it.
Notifications
safeT1D uses notifications to tell parents about requests and problems, and to remind the student to reopen the app. Notification content is created on your devices and delivered through Apple's push service. You can turn notifications off in iOS Settings.
Children's privacy
safeT1D is set up and controlled by a parent or guardian. It does not collect personal information from children for S4 Solutions: the child's first name and School Mode activity stay in the family's own iCloud account. A parent can change the name or remove the data at any time.
Keeping and deleting your data
- Removing a linked parent in the app stops sharing with that parent.
- Deleting safeT1D from the student's iPhone removes the data stored on that phone.
- Data in iCloud can be deleted in iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Storage (or Storage) → safeT1D.
This website
This policy covers the safeT1D app. The s4solutions.ai website uses privacy-friendly analytics to count visits; that is separate from the app, and the app sends nothing to this website.
